Texas Senate Committee on Business and Commerce
Elizabeth recently testified before the Texas Senate in support of the High Plains Winegrowers Association for a proposed Grower’s Permit, a bill aimed to loosen restrictions on wine grape growers who may choose to retain ownership of their wine grapes after harvest. Elizabeth testified as to the legal justifications for the Grower’s Permit and how the bill will assist her clients in furthering their business. Two days after hearing testimony, the Committee unanimously voted to present the bill to the entire Texas Senate, who then passed the bill the following week. Lubbock Representative, Dustin Burrows, has brought a companion bill before the Texas House of Representatives.
